Book an experience with a difference as you enjoy a taste of Connemara with Colleen Irish Travel.
You’ll enjoy authentic food with locals and you’ll get to explore three different working farms.
The tour departs from Galway City and travels along the stunning coast road and the Wild Atlantic Way. Your first stop is Rossaveal Harbour (The Irish name is Ros an Mhíl, which means “peninsula of the whale”).
Rossaveal is in the heart of the Connemara Gaeltacht and you’ll get to hear the locals speaking Irish.
You’ll be taken on a guided tour of Abalone Farm, located on the shores of Galway Bay. After your tour (which lasts for approximately one hour) you can enjoy a tasting menu of fish and seafood grown on the farm.
We’ll say farewell to the fishing village of Rossaveal and you’ll experience the authentic Ireland as you travel through the rugged bog and lakes of Connemara. We’ll take a short stop at the crossroads of Connemara before we travel through the stunning glacier valley.
Our next stop is in Killary fjord, you’ll have worked up an appetite so we’ll enjoy a quick lunch stop in the village of Letterfrack before we travel to the Ballinakill Oyster Farm. You’ll enjoy a guided farm tour, at one of the oldest oyster farms in the country. You’ll discover how the oysters are grown, and of course you’ll get to taste them.
After an unforgettable day, we’ll leave Ballinakill and travel back down the valley and make our return trip to Galway city
