Meet Colleen – Founder & Lead Guide
Colleen Joyce is the founder of Colleen Irish Travel and a passionate, experienced guide with deep roots in Connemara. Her family has been part of Ireland’s tourism and hospitality tradition for generations – beginning with her grandparents’ renowned craft shop in Recess, still a beloved stop for visitors today.
Colleen’s journey in tourism started early, giving impromptu tours of Kylemore Abbey during school breaks. Inspired by the beauty of the landscape and the encouragement of a remarkable nun from the Abbey, she followed her passion and has now spent over 20 years sharing the magic of Ireland with visitors from all over the world.
A graduate in Tourism and Eco-Tourism, Colleen is committed to sustainable travel and showcasing the best of the Wild Atlantic Way, blending history, nature, and local culture into every unforgettable tour.
Meet Michael – Tour Logistics Manager
Michael is a proud native of Inishmore, the largest of the Aran Islands, where his family has lived and worked for many generations. Deeply rooted in both tourism and traditional island farming, Michael brings a unique blend of local knowledge, storytelling, and authenticity to every tour.
As our Lead Guide and Tour Logistics Manager, Michael ensures that every journey runs seamlessly—from the ferry crossings to the scenic drives and cultural experiences along the way.
Guests often say that his warmth, humour, and deep connection to the land make them feel less like visitors and more like part of the island community.
Whether he’s sharing the legends of Dun Aengus, explaining the traditions of dry-stone walls, or chatting about daily life on Inishmore, Michael’s passion for preserving and sharing the heritage of the Aran Islands shines through every moment.

Aideen is the heartbeat of our operations at Colleen Irish Tours and Maumfin Chauffeur. As our Tour Logistics and Office Manager, she ensures every tour runs smoothly behind the scenes — from coordinating drivers and schedules to handling guest inquiries with care and precision.
With a deep passion for Irish heritage and hospitality, Aideen also custom-designs private tours for guests who want something truly personal and unique. Her attention to detail and local insight help create experiences that go beyond the guidebook.
When needed, Aideen loves stepping out from behind the desk to guide select site and walking tours, where her storytelling and warmth shine through. Whether she’s planning your journey or leading you through one of Ireland’s charming streets, Aideen’s dedication ensures every guest enjoys an authentic and seamless experience.
