Colleen Travel Tours was founded by Colleen Joyce, a generational tourism provider whose roots in Irish hospitality stretch back centuries.
Born and raised in Connemara, the heart of Galway tourism, Colleen’s passion for showing the beauty of Ireland began at a young age. Her grandparents operated a renowned craft shop in Recess, a must-visit stop for travellers, and it remains a cherished family business today.
A former student of Kylemore Abbey, Colleen spent her school breaks sharing the wonders of the Abbey’s landscape with visitors, igniting her lifelong love of guiding. Standing on the iconic bridge at Kylemore Abbey, she often dreamed of leading tours back to this very place. With the encouragement of a remarkable sister from Kylemore Abbey, Colleen pursued that dream and has now been in the tourism industry for over 20 years.
Colleen’s dedication to preserving Ireland’s natural beauty led her to study Tourism and Eco-tourism, allowing her to showcase the Wild Atlantic Way while promoting sustainability.
Her mission is simple: to offer guests an authentic Irish experience, filled with hidden gems, local stories, and the rich heritage of her homeland, all while protecting it for future generations.

Colleen has been in tourism for over 20 years. Her love for tourism comes from her native home in Connemara, the home of Galway Tourism. Colleen’s family have all been in tourism sector for centuries, with her grandparents having a well know craft shop in Recess where many a visitors as visited and still in the family today.
Colleen attended secondary school in Kylemore Abbey where as a day student her love to show and tell people about the landscape of Ireland grew. Standing on the bridge in Kylemore abbey she often said one day she would be leading tours back to Kylemore. A remarkable sister in Kylemore gave Colleen the encouragement to follow her dream. Colleen loves nothing more than telling and showing her guest around the wild Atlantic way and it hidden gems.
Colleen went on to study Tourism and in later Eco tourism as her desire to keep and preserve this beautiful landscape for future visitors
